چکیده
Little research can be found in relation to the stability of anisotropic and heterogenous soils three dimensions. In this paper, we propose a study on three-dimensional (3D) undrained slopes clay using advanced upper lower bounds finite element limit analysis (FELA). The obtained solutions are normalized, presented by number that is function geometrical ratios two material ratios, i.e. depth ratio, length slope angle, shear strength gradient ratio ratio. Numerical results compared with experimental data literature, charts cover wide range design parameters. Using multivariate adaptive regression splines (MARS) analysis, respective influence sensitivity each parameter failure mechanism investigated. An empirical equation also developed effectively estimate number.

Survival Analysis with Multivariate adaptive Regression Splines
Multivariate adaptive regression splines (MARS) are a useful tool to identify linear and nonlinear effects and interactions between two covariates. In this dissertation a new proposal to model survival type data with MARS is introduced. Martingale and deviance residuals of a Cox PH model are used as response in a common MARS approach to model functional forms of covariate effects as well as pos...

متن کاملBootstrapping Conic Multivariate Adaptive Regression Splines (Bcmars)
Bootstrapping is a computer-intensive statistical method which treats the data set as a population and draws samples from it with replacement. This resampling method has wide application areas especially in mathematically intractable problems. In this study, it is used to obtain the empirical distributions of the parameters to determine whether they are statistically significant or not in a spe...
متن کاملESTIMATING DRYING SHRINKAGE OF CONCRETE USING A MULTIVARIATE ADAPTIVE REGRESSION SPLINES APPROACH
In the present study, the multivariate adaptive regression splines (MARS) technique is employed to estimate the drying shrinkage of concrete. To this purpose, a very big database (RILEM Data Bank) from different experimental studies is used. Several effective parameters such as the age of onset of shrinkage measurement, age at start of drying, the ratio of the volume of the sample on its drying...
